Poetry

Room 3 have been working hard drafting, editing and publishing a poem a day. Today we studied part of  Roald Dahl's book 'The Twits'. Here are some of our poems about Mr Twit's beard!! Spot the adjectives and similes.  Enjoy!
(there'll be more)

Ms Twit's Beard
Ms Twit's beard is oh so weird!
It smells like rotten eggs.
If you go near you will pass out!
Make sure not to shout
Or the ants will scare off and rumble and tumble
Into your knees.
Beware to go near!       .... Yezza

The hairy forest on Mr Twit's face
Mr Twit's beard
Brown as chocolate
Gooey as slime
Spiky like thorns and needles
Stinky as a garbage truck
Icky Slimy Smelly
Icky like a slug
Smelly like sewer
Slimy like snail trails
Thick like sand        .... Giliet

Mr Twit's beard is slimy, slurry, sluggery
It even has dried weet-bix
Like if it was a messy room
You could even smell his beard
From 205 kilometres away
It smells like sweat and mixed up vomit .... Tanaki

Gross, stinky, smelly
His beard smells like smelly socks
It's mucky like mud
And mushy like marshmallows
It's fluffy like a cat
Sticky like honey
Mr Twit has a beard      .... Sjahn

Mr Twit's beard
It's a slimy beard
He has his lunch in it
Garbage, grass
Dead flowers, swamp water
Cement, mossy bananas
Rotten strawberries
Cat fur balls and his brothers garbage .... Rachel
