What amazing weather on Thursday afternoon for our introduction to this term's Science/Technology topic, Wheels. Great to see Miss Peat bringing her wheels along and joining in the fun for a Room 3 & 4 Wheels afternoon. Mrs C can be spotted sharing Miss Peat's wheels too!

Happy Birthday Chytel
What a lovely surprise for Chytel at lunch time today when her Mum arrived with an amazing birthday cake and delicious chocolate ice-cream for all of the 29 students in Room 3! Thank you! Happy 8th birthday Chytel! We appreciated your mum being so generous and hope that you will be very happy in your 8th year.

Welcome to Term 2
Hello Room 3 students and parents. Welcome to Term 2!
During the holidays Miss Peat and I have planned Writing and Reading for Rooms 3 & 4 from 9.15 - 10.30am, Monday - Thursday. We are both very excited to launch this collaboration and think you will really enjoy the learning that we have organised. Students can see what they are doing for Reading by looking on the Room 4 website and clicking on the Roald Dahl group they are in:
For Writing we are learning about the features of a

narrative. The students will be exploring
and creating a variety of fairy tales. We are also working with Room 4 for our
Science study, all about wheels. On the first Thursday (5th May) we are having a
wheels afternoon so students are encouraged to bring in a wheels vehicle from
home for the afternoon (e.g. scooters, bikes, skateboards etc).
School Cross Country is on Thursday 12th May at 1.15pm so from Monday 2nd
May cross country training will be at 8.45am (before school). Students please bring your
running shoes to school. It would be great if you could be at school by 8.45am to train. Training will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Maths homework will continue this term, given out on Friday as for last term, and returned by, or before, Friday the following
week. Home basic facts will still be given out Monday to Thursday even though a Basic Facts rotation will also begin during Maths time at school this term. Please sign and add a comment to the green reading record journal as it comes home. Thank you!
I look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for exciting learning together in Term 2!
