First mini-ball game
What a great atmosphere at Pioneer 6.30 pm Wednesday - our first mini-ball game of the season. We were delighted with a win, but more importantly we had a lot of fun, played fairly and appreciated all the family support.

February 22 - remembering
Today on the anniversary of the 2011 Christchurch earthquake we fondly remembered Ivy Cabunilas, a loving mother to twins Reshnee and Ryanna who were then at Sacred Heart and all those who died on that day, their families and their friends.

Thank you Miss Bourne
A huge thank you from Mrs Clark and Room 3 to Miss Bourne, one of Sacred Heart's very hard-working teacher-aides. She has been in our classroom full time for the last 3 weeks helping us to settle in and doing lots of amazing things with and for us. We really appreciated her help and support and look forward to seeing her more during the collaboration process with Room 4. We will 'walk through' this process for writing and reading in Week 4 (beginning 20 Feb) and begin to teach it in Week 5 when phonics collaboration will also be introduced. This process is a big 'step up' for Room 3 so we will be going through it slowly and carefully with Room 4 who have come a long way in this process during 2016.
Rooms 3 and 4 will now be having 'Meet the Teachers' (myself and Mrs Currie) on Thursday 2 March at either 3.15 or 5.15 in Room 4. This change of date is due to 3 teams starting after school sports in Week 4, including Rooms 3 & 4's mini-ball team. There will be a short power point presentation during this meeting.
In Week 4 you will also notice that there is a times table grid pasted in the homework reading log book. This will stay there for the year. Please support your child to learn these tables at their own pace throughout the year, starting at the 1x table. Thank you for your support in this. It will greatly benefit their Maths work now and in the future.
